Checking in
For check-in at ICON Board Game Convention, head to the registration desk to pick up your badge. All badges are held there for pickup. To retrieve yours, please provide your last name and if you got a 1 day or 2 day badge.
Attending by Yourself?
The Game Library is a good place to start where you can rent a game from 100s of different choices then you can get a sign to help you find some players to get started.
Also you can find a way on the portal to sign up for the RPG sessions through tabletop.events. or look for the sign up sheet to see what events are taking place during the convention. This is a good way to meet some new people and play some great games.
What Should I do First?
Check out the events schedule at tabletop.events or the table next to the registration desk to see all of the events going on. I would also reccomend you goto the exhibitor hall to see all of the latest and greatest games and accesories that we think would be of a great interest to you. Lastly check out the play to win games as we will be giving them away on saturday night.
Game Library Tips
You can check out games from the 1000+ games we will have available to rent play as long as you would like. Make sure to check for the play to win games table. We also would reccomend that you take a placard for looking for more players or a teacher to place on a nearby table if you are looking fo more players or a teacher.
RPG Area Tips
The RPG Area is where we have all varieties of role-playing games. These games usually require a little more interaction than most board games, so we have round tables setup, and Game Masters ready to play many different RPG systems including D&D Adventurer’s league, and many others!
You can sign up online before the convention to reserve your seat for many of the RPGs on the schedule, and sometimes you can walk right in, find an empty seat, and join in! Look for the table next to the registration desk to have an oppurtunity to join the day off on the sign up sheets.
If you haven’t played an RPG before look for one of the Game Masters and see if they would help you build a character to play or play with one that is provided for you.
Tournaments Tips
We have several Tournaments each day that you can participate in. Sometimes there are Magic the Gathering Tournaments and we have a Conquest Tournament you can join. The tournament can support quite a few people so be sure to sign up on tabletop.events to reserve your spot. Sometimes there is also oppurtunity to join day of. Check near the registration desk for the events for that day to see if there are any open spots to play.
